[Euroclio] CALL FOR PARTICIPATION – International Training “Changing Europe: European Dilemmas and European Decisions”

EUROCLIO is delighted to announce the official Call for Participation for our International Training Seminar within our “Decisions and Dilemmas: Learning about the EU from a Historical Perspective” project. The training will take place in Vilnius, Lithuania from 13 until 16 May, 2016 and is organized by EUROCLIO in cooperation with the Lithuanian History Teacher’s Association, and Vilnius University.

You are invited to come and experience a professional training course gathering around 45 history, heritage and citizenship educators from all across Europe involving materials that set the European Union in its historical context and enable students to understand that Europe faces, and has always faced, dilemmas that require decisions. In parallel there will be a meeting by educators from all EU countries on how European Integration is portrayed in history and social science textbooks. The engaging seminar programme aims to equip educators with adequate tools to teach the history of Europe and European Integration and its difficult processes to youngsters in an innovative and engaging way through workshopson-site study visitspeer learning and brainstorm sessions.

Participants are expected to be practitioners in history, citizenship and heritage education with a working level of English, committed to work during the training with the other participants, and interested in future cross-border cooperation on history education.

Seminar fee

For this training, there will be a fee of €125, – per person. This fee covers the participation in the trainings including coffee breaks, lunches, dinners and on-site study visits for the 3 seminar days.

Travel expenses and accommodation should be covered by the participants. For accommodation we recommend Corner Hotel. This hotel is on walking distance of the training venue with prices around 53 euro per night including breakfast for a single room.*
